Surrounded by a giant most, Hiroshima Castle was established by Mori Terumoto, one of the council of “Five Great Elders” in 1589. Following the abolition of feudalism in 1871, it served as a military facility.
Stunning and impressive, this castle is merely a replica, as the bomb destroyed it in 1945. It was reconstructed in 1958 and is now a little city history museum. The inside was not built to replicate the original but it had a lot of great fabrics and weaponry on display.
